My Yoga Story - A journey of self discovery, mindset change, acceptance and peace...
I first embarked upon my yogic path some 18 plus years ago. My legal career was testing and stressful, long hours and very little self care took it’s toll and I struggled with anxiety, frequent panic attacks and a number of concerning conditions that resulted as a result of my career and a number of past traumatic life events. A friend pretty much dragged me into a yoga class in Birmingham, reluctant to attend on my own due to very little self esteem and confidence and not really knowing what to expect. I left with a smile on my face, clarity within and radiance out. The effect was almost instant and I felt empowered to return again and again. From that day I practised yoga regularly.
After almost continuous redundancies, in 2010 I decided that I wanted to share my joy and love of yoga with others and to change my direction completely. So in the Spring of 2010 I commenced the Sun Power Yoga Teacher Training with Anne-Marie Newland. Sun Power Yoga, is a combination of Sivananda, Iyengar and Astanga yoga. This experience was both transformational and enlightening and paved the beginning of a life changing future for me.
In 2017 I let go of my legal career for good to enable me to follow a path that I was truly meant to follow and fulfil my passion to bring yoga therapy to all.
Coming from a structured and highly respectful background of legal training, it was important to me that I acquire a high calibre of training so as to ensure that my client's receive the best possible approach to yoga therapy.
