Yoga is accessible to Every Body......

Seated yoga is one of the gentlest forms of yoga available, a unique yoga style that adapts yoga asanas (postures) through creative use of a chair or wheelchair. Seated yoga brings the ability to maintain mobility, flexibility, and muscle mass in a relaxed setting.

Asanas are practiced whilst seated in the chair/wheelchair and/or a chair is used for support during standing and balance poses (where appropriate).

 

The chair allows for greater stability to help you feel supported and safe. Poses are modified so that even those with health restrictions, decreased range of motion, and physical challenges, can enjoy the benefits of a more traditional practice.

 

Focus will be upon breathing, gentle movements, meditation and yoga nidra (yogic sleep), all of which will bring a sense of calmness and peace.

 

Seated Yoga is suitable for all ages, fitness levels and physical conditions, breath work is the key. 

Its also a great way to practice yoga with a family member or friend.
